Congratulations, Class of 2015

On Friday night, nineteen seniors walked across the platform to receive their diplomas. Salutatorian, Tori Simmons, reflected on the years these students have spent together and the memories they have made.  She encouraged her classmates from Proverbs 3:5-6 to allow the Lord to direct their paths.   Ally Murr’s valedictorian address challenged the seniors to make their faith their own as they continue to develop their relationship with Christ. She went on to remind them of Matthew 5:16 to “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

As we concluded our 45th year and celebrated our 35th commencement exercises, one of the highlights of the evening was our commencement speaker, Rev. Phil Kissinger.  A beloved teacher at FCS for 30 years, Mr. K (as he is affectionately known) spoke from his heart regarding “Battling Distractions.”  He stated, “Words fall so short of expressing how humbling it was to be asked to speak at the 2015 FCS graduation ceremony. Falling even more short would be to explain how the passage of Luke 10:38-42 ‘preached to me’ as I prepared. I became more totally aware that the very Creator wants the individual attention of His own without distraction, regardless of obligations. How more blessed to know that this routine is ‘accomplished daily with delight’ with He, who is, the Teacher of teachers.”
