Spirit Week and Homecoming 2016

The halls of FCS were teeming with excitement as we began second semester with our annual Spirit Week.  The students were decked out in their best Red, White, and Blue for ‘Merica Monday.  Freezing temperatures could not dampen the spirit of Tropical Tuesday.  Workday Wednesday brought out doctors, nurses, firefighters, “professional” athletes, and many other future careers.  Creativity abounded on Three or More Thursday starting with Head of School Gru and his “minion” teachers.  Mr. “Darth Vader” Potter and his stormtroopers were a big hit along with Mrs. Pedder’s First Grade Dominoes.  Other groups included King Julian and his animal friends;  eenie, meenie, miney, and mo; Simon, Alvin, and Theodore; and of course, several groups of Star Wars characters.

Spirit week culminated with our Falcon Friday.  Students dressed in their finest Falcon Wear to support their school.  We ended the day with our final pep rally of the week in which our faculty men took on (and beat) the JV boys basketball team.  What a terrific week!

The final event of our Spirit Week was our annual Homecoming and Family Fun Night.  Students of all ages were able to participate in games during halftime of the JV and Varsity games.  Everyone had a great time competing for prizes.

Our State Champion Soccer Team was recognized during halftime of the varsity boys game when they were presented with state champion t-shirts.

The evening concluded with a new tradition at FCS – the recognition of the Senior Class Homecoming Court.  This was a special time for our seniors and their families as the seniors were recognized and then gave a moving and heartfelt thank you to their parents and family members.  What a special way to start the seniors last semester of high school!

We want to thank our Student Representatives along with Student Life Director, Mr. McClain, for all their hard work in making Spirit Week special.  They planned the pep rallies each day and helped Mr. McClain with the games during Family Fun Night.  We appreciate all they did to make this Spirit Week and Homecoming memorable.
