Teachers Teaching Teachers

We love our teachers and are blessed to have such a fantastic faculty!  They do a tremendous job each day impacting the lives of our students.

Last week several of our teachers had the opportunity to take their wealth of knowledge about their field and share it with teachers from North and South Carolina and Georgia at the Southeast Christian School Convention.

Mr. Nelson was able to help other administrators with his workshop “A Strategic Look at Setting Teacher Salaries.”

Our fine arts department was represented by Mr. Brent Brondyke, HS choir, and Mrs. Barbara Walston, MS band.  Mr. Brondyke taught three classes geared toward teaching choral groups, while Mrs. Walston taught a class about using the T.I.E. approach to band rehearsals.

Mrs. Lisa Joyner, Director of Specialized Learning Center, was able to teach four classes focused on special education.  What a blessing for her to be able to share about what we are doing at FCS with so many others who are seeking to meet the needs of students with learning needs.  You can read more about Lisa’s experience at the convention on her blog.

The words teach/teaching are found 194 times in the Bible.  Teaching is an important part of life, and Paul lists the gift of teaching in Romans 12.  We are thankful for the teachers God has given us at FCS and are thrilled that our teachers can not only impact the lives of our students but other teachers as well.
