FCS Accreditation Reaffirmed

Friendship Christian School is pleased to announce that our accreditation through the North Carolina Christian School Association has been reaffirmed for a term of five years effective March 1, 2017.

Mr. Nelson and our faculty and staff worked diligently to prepare the materials required for reaccreditation.  On January 16-17, FCS hosted the six-member accreditation team for the accreditation site visit.  The final report has been presented to the school, and the reaffirmation of our accreditation has been granted.

This is an important milestone in the continuing growth and success of Friendship Christian School. Pursuing accreditation shows our commitment to providing the highest levels of quality education for our students.  We are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation and intend to consistently uphold the principles outlined in our mission and vision statements as well as our core values as we seek “to provide an excellent educational experience from a biblical worldview in order to produce the next generation of well-rounded servant leaders.”

Friendship Christian School Accreditation Reaffirmed
Goldsboro, NC: The accreditation of Friendship Christian School (FCS) has been reaffirmed by the North Carolina Christian School Association (NCCSA) effective March, 1 2017 for a term of five years. NCCSA accreditation provides a benchmark for Christian schools which measures standards, performance, integrity, and quality. Schools engage in a voluntary process of self-evaluation against accepted best practices and educational standards. This evaluative process involved the visit of an accreditation team of Christian education professionals who scrutinized the following standards for accreditation: philosophy and administration, governance, school improvement plan, finances, facilities, school climate and organization, health and safety, educational program, assessment, student services, student life and activities, and information resources and technology. The accreditation process is designed to assist schools in achieving a standard of excellence and provides the framework for the on-going School Improvement Program (SIP) of the school.
The NCCSA accreditation protocol has been formally recognized by the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education and is approved by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) through a co-accreditation agreement with the North American Christian School Accrediting Agency (NACSAA). As part of the onsite team visit, a representative of the NACSAA participated in the peer review and report writing process. As a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation, NACSAA partners with the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) to provide co-accreditation to NCCSA member schools desiring to pursue regional accreditation.
