FLC Visits Bitty and Beau’s

Our Focus Learning Center recently took a field trip to Bitty and Beau’s, a coffee shop in Wilmington. Taken from their website, “Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee – it’s an experience. While the shop is run by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the customers love the products, they really come in for the unique customer service experience.”

This coffee shop was the FLC’s inspiration in beginning their own coffee cart at Friendship Christian. Below are some photos of this ongoing endeavor. Teachers and staff are able to fill out the order form several days before Thursday. Then on Thursday, students work through the orders, prepare drinks and snacks, and deliver items to teachers. Our faculty and staff are enjoying it!

Students were able to visit Bitty and Beau’s and to see the workings of a coffee shop. The employees were very helpful giving facts about the startup of the store and even teaching our students their store cheer!

The class was also able to swing by the ocean to see the beauty of God’s creation. They had a great time!
