Goals, Aims, and Objectives of Christian EducationIt is said that without goals one will go nowhere and achieve nothing. The goals are very important because they provide a target to achieve. Without goals, I cannot determine if I am doing my ministry effectively. The following goals deal mainly with the student themselves. With the knowledge that redemption is man's greatest need and that he needs to grow in his walk with Christ, these goals are mainly for the spiritual achievement of the individual in the area of my classroom. 1. To teach so that each student will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ 2. To teach so that each student will make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ in his daily walk of devotion and prayer 3. To teach so that each student will understand the Bible is the infallible Word of God 4. To teach so that each student will accept the Bible as a practical guide to life and living 5. To teach so that each student will develop a keen understanding of the fundamentals of God's creation, including all of the academic studies 6. To teach so that each student will have an understanding that Jesus Christ is central in all areas of life 7. To teach so that each student will have a thorough instruction in the arts and sciences that he might develop to the glory of God, spiritually, socially, mentally and physically 8. To teach so that each student will understand it is not in his natural energy but through new life in Christ that he can accomplish his learning 9. To teach so that each student will apply the principles of faith and purpose to yield himself to God in submission and obedience to His will as revealed in the Bible 10. To teach so that each student will progress in Christian living through fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ in studying the Holy Scriptures, prayer, and active Christian service 11. To teach so that each student will work effectively with perseverance to reach his full potential 12. To teach so that each student will develop within himself an understanding of how to think and to apply oneself 13. To teach so that each student will develop within himself self-respect, an effective attitude of self-discipline, and responsibility. 14. To teach so that each student will develop in himself the proper attitudes, ideals, habits, knowledge and skills which are necessary preparations for life 15. To teach so that each student will have the kind of experiences that will make him a credit to Christ, his church, his community, his nation and himself 16. To teach so that each student will develop a set of morals and values based on the Word of God 17. To teach so that each student will develop proper relational skills with his classmates |
