Admissions Overview

FCS is most effective when working with families who share our commitments. Therefore, priority is given to these families in the admissions process. Each family and each student admitted to FCS is expected to exhibit a cooperative spirit. Parents and students should read the Parent/Student Handbook for a description of the School's standards and expectations. The school only admits students who want to attend FCS. Negative attitudes about the Christian faith or the School will prevent admission. The student application, interview, and references are used to determine a student's suitability for admission.

Application Process

We appreciate your interest in applying to Friendship Christian School . If at any time during the application process you have questions , please contact us at (919) 872-2133 or fcsmail@friendshipchristian.net for assistance.

Step 1
Review. Before applying, carefully review the information presented to determine whether FCS offers the type of Christian education you desire for your child(ren).

Tour. A basic overview of the school and a personal tour of the school can be arranged in advance. This part of the process is informative in nature, and we will answer any basic questions that you may have. This process will take about 30 minutes. This tour is not required, and it does not take the place of the interview process.

Shadow. A student may shadow another student in the same grade for a day of classes, if desired. The student will be required to comply with school dress code during this time. This day must be set up in advance through the school office. The tour is required before a student is allowed to shadow.

Step 2
Preschool and Kindergarten Age Requirements.
Our Preschool program is North Carolina State certified. Because of this certification, no child may enter the 3 year old program until he/she has reached the age of three. No child may enter the 4 year old program until he/she has reached the age of 4. All students in K3 and K4 must be completely potty-trained before they may attend the school.

Please note: Currently, a child must reach the age of five on or before October 16 of the upcoming school year to enter kindergarten. The new law that goes into effect in 2009-10 will move that date back to August 31.
