Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend FCS summer camp?

FCS camp is only open to Transitional Kindergarten students through rising 5th-grade students who are enrolled at FCS.

What are the hours for summer camp?

Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Doors will not open until 7:30 each morning.
Check-in is in the cafeteria every day.

Is there a schedule of events and activities?

Yes! Beginning with devotions, the campers start the day with God and I Time. The morning hours are filled with opportunities to learn, explore, move, and play. After lunch, campers experience a variety of activities focused on creating and inventing, followed by a media presentation that aligns with the weekly theme.

Weekly field trips are planned and themed to provide the campers with unique opportunities to apply what they have learned and experienced within the week.

FCS also offers various SPORTS CAMPS throughout the summer. For a small additional fee, campers can participate. FCS families should check for an email communication from the FCS Athletic Director for further details.

A weekly newsletter is emailed to parents to prepare for upcoming events.

Are students all together or split up by age?

Campers are generally grouped with students their age.

Transitional Kindergarten campers attend the same outings as older campers. However, there are specific chaperones assigned to them and they are kept in a group by themselves. Kindergarten/first grade, second/third grade, and fourth/fifth grade are considered separate classes and will participate in activities as a class. They will interact with other classes at times as well.

Is there a nap time?

Transitional Kindergarten students take a nap each day. Students must bring all necessary items for napping each day (a sheet, a light blanket, and a sleep buddy).

What is the dress code?

Summer Camp clothing should be modest and appropriate for summer fun. No objectionable pictures or slogans can be worn on t-shirts.

Campers may wear long shorts (i.e. 2 inches below the wearer’s fingertips when standing), capris, athletic pants, or jeans. Pants must be loose-fitting.

Shirts or t-shirts and shoes must be worn at all time. Tennis shoes are recommended.

No leggings, tank tops, halters tops, or flip-flips.

Does my child need to bring a lunch?

Yes! Campers must bring their lunches and snacks. Morning snack is around 9:30 a.m.; lunch is around noon; afternoon snack is at 3:00 p.m.
