Thank You for a Great Walk Event!

“The gray skies could not dampen the spirits of our school family at this year’s Fall Walk Event.  The kids beamed with joy and laughter.  A good time was had by all thanks in large part to the efforts of the many Parents of Friendship volunteers.  This was a wonderful day for FCS.  I can’t wait until next year!”  ~ Rita Gomillion, Parents of Friendship co-chair

From the first group to walk around the field, to the last little one to plummet down the giant slide, the students, parents, grandparents, and staff had a fun-filled day at the Seventh Annual Parents of Friendship Walk Event to benefit the Annual Fund.

As the students made their way around the field, volunteers directed them to various stations where the students could skip down the sidelines, walk backwards, and show off their skills with a hula hoop.  Mr. Potter’s class had plenty of energy as they finished their walk with a 5th grade cheer.

After the walk, the gym was transformed into a child’s paradise with several blow-up rides and carnival games.  Students had an opportunity to race each other on the Adrenaline Rush, show their awesome basketball skills at the slam dunk contest, and bounce around on the giant slide and in the bounce house.

Outside, there was always a line for the face painting, but no one seemed to mind . . .  They were too excited about being transformed into a tiger, or a super hero, or a flower.

Of course, we can’t forget those who were brave enough to enter the dunk tank.  Students had the opportunity to dunk not only their favorite teachers, but also some of their friends.

Thank you to all who made our Walk Event a success this year.  Not only were we able to have a great time as a school family, but we were also able to raise money for some needed projects at the school.
