Art Students Shine at Fine Arts

The students in the art department worked long and hard on their pieces for the NCCSA Fine Arts Competition.  They chose their categories about a month after school began, and had until after Christmas to complete the projects.  After they were turned in, suggestions were made and the final selections were made in February. Some students had to re-work, add, or subtract to their pieces for the final competition, and wow, what excitement with 13 places, the most of any school in the competition. Congratulations and to God be the glory!

Peter Huang will be representing Friendship at National competition for his 1st place showing in photography in the area of Animals and People. The other senior high winners include Libby Tsui – 2nd place in Monochromatic drawing, Catherine George-  3rd  place in People and Animal photography, Aiko Hiraoka –  3rd place in Oil painting, Emily Payne – 3rd place in Watercolor.

In the middle school, Josh Mullen won 1st place in woodworking, Uhlan Larrie  – 1st place in both Calligraphy and Digital Media, Abby Lee – 1st place in Mixed Media, Jael Delphonse – 2nd place in Watercolor, Haley Hylton – 2nd place in Crafts, Joshua Vazquez  – 3rd place in Calligraphy, Susie Greear – 3rd place in Digital Media.

Thank you to all the students who participated.  We entered over 40 pieces and many received high ratings.

We give God all the praise and glory for the talents He has bestowed on these students and may they always use them for His glory.
