Spreading Christmas Cheer

Everyone looks forward to Christmas.  Celebrating the birth of our Savior – Decorating the Christmas tree – Baking Christmas cookies – and of course – Singing Christmas carols.

Our band and choir students had the privilege of Spreading Christmas Cheer in a variety of ways this Christmas season. Our school-wide Christmas concert, “God Bless Us Everyone:  A Dickens Christmas,” put everyone into the Christmas spirit.  We enjoyed seeing the joy on the faces of our preschool students as they sang at the top of their lungs and waved at family members in the audience.  Our elementary students sounded like a choir of angels with their sweet voices.  The middle and high school choirs and bands put many hours of practice into their performance, and it showed as they did a tremendous job.  And of course, the grand finale was magnificent as a full stage of performers sounded majestic as they brought the evening to a close and put the audience into the Christmas spirit.

The performances didn’t end when the last note was sung at the concert.  A few days later, our middle school band and choir performed for some of the senior saints from FBC and then went over to Brookdale Assisted Living to present a concert for the residents.

Our high school choir once again had the privilege of singing at the capitol and then performed for the residents of Abbotswood Assisted Living.  On the way back from Abbotswood, they made a quick stop at Jersey Mikes where all 70 students crammed into the tiny restaurant to give a musical “thank you” for their lunch earlier in the day.

We want to thank our Fine Arts Director, Mrs. Debi Brondyke, along with Mr. Brent Brondyke (HS choir director), Mr. Kevin Elston (HS band director), Mrs. Barbara Walston (MS band director), and Mrs. Valerie Elston (elementary music teacher), for all their hard work as they prepared our students to Spread Christmas Cheer.
