2016 Shoot Out Tournament

Eight games of basketball, tons of luggage, lots of laughter, one Christmas parade, and two trophies!  The varsity basketball teams and cheerleaders had the privilege of participating in the 2016 Shoot Out Tournament at the Anchorage Christian Camp December 1-3.  In addition to playing basketball and cheering, the teams had a wonderful time of fellowship not just with each other but also with the players from the three other Christian schools who were at the tournament.  They even had the opportunity to watch the town Christmas parade as it passed right by the camp.

Varsity girls head coach, Andy Murr stated, “ It was a great experience.  I believe the ladies grew closer and enjoyed their time on the court playing hard and winning, but also enjoyed their time off the court together without being in class or in a game.  They were a joy to be around.  I enjoyed watching them fellowship with student-athletes from other Christian schools.  I am so blessed to be able to coach such a fine group of talented young ladies.”

Cheerleading Coach, Vicki Murr commented that the cheerleaders were “adored by all.  They were fantastic!  We even had some players from New Bern cheer with us for some games!  It was a great time at a beautiful place!  Many memories made!”

Making memories is an important part of the high school experience, and we are thankful to the Anchorage for inviting FCS to this tournament.  Congratulations to both teams!
