Jesus in Disguise

There’s a song called I Saw Jesus In You by Ron Hamilton which talks about the people we will see in Heaven who will come to us and tell us how they saw Jesus us in us. It’s a powerful message.
But what about the other aspect of that? Do we see Jesus in others?
This summer I heard a speaker make a statement along these lines:
“How different would life be for Christians if we believed that every person we interact with was Jesus in disguise?”
If we truly believed that, would we choose different words, actions, and attitudes? With our kids, our spouse, our boss, our neighbors?
It’s a powerful question. The truth is, we would be drastically changed in many ways and by proxy, society would be changed.
In Matthew 25:40-45, Jesus gives us a glimpse into this mindset by rewarding those who showed care and concern for others and by proxy for Him.
I have challenged our staff to frame every interaction with each other, students, and parents that way this year.
What if it is Jesus in disguise? In reality, it is. He sees it all. Nothing is hid from His eyes.
Let’s live differently in light of that sobering truth this year.
