Intentional Fellowship
sharePosted 8/26/2024
In the beginning of the book of Acts, some incredible events take place.
After His resurrection, Jesus has ascended back to heaven to the right hand of the Father to prepare an eternal home for believers.
The disciples who are waiting for what is next receive the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit and begin to preach the Gospel with power.
Thousands who are in town for Pentecost hear that Gospel message about Jesus Christ, gladly received it, and are baptized.
The church age begins.
In Acts 2:42, after their conversion to following Jesus, we read “…they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Simply, they began growing together in Christ while they “did life together.”
This level of fellowship is one of the marks of Christianity and true spiritual transformation. Different people with different backgrounds with different feelings all joined together in the pursuit of the truth of God’s Word.
Our goal for Friendship is to be a place where the true doctrine of God’s word is preached and proclaimed while students receive an excellent education that prepares them for a life of service to the Lord and souls and hearts are nurtured through intentional fellowship.
It was so good to see so many of you last night at our Friendship Back to School event. I had the privilege to meet and talk to many of you throughout the evening, and my heart was full.
I was thrilled to hear that you have also seen, felt, and heard that there is a strong sense of fellowship among staff and students this year.
This is a direct answer to prayer. God is working, and we are seeing the evidence of His hand in our ministry.
I am very excited about the school year. I hope you are too. Thank you for being a part of the Friendship Family as we seek His will above all else for our students and families.
If you don’t yet have a church home to worship and fellowship on Sunday, you are always welcome to join us at Friendship Baptist Church. We would love to see you there.
