This One’s Different

April 20, 2025

For 400+ years, the Jewish people hadn’t heard from God.  For all those years, they continued waiting for the promised Messiah to come. Many false prophets and false messiahs had come and gone over those years.

Then, all of a sudden, there was one who seemed different from all the rest. He did miracles that no one had ever done.  His message was also different.

For three years, hope began to bloom in their hearts like spring flowers springing to life.

Then, He was dead.  Just like all the others.  Failed and gone.  Hope began to wilt and fade. Bewildered, heartbroken, and disappointed they braced themselves to continue waiting and hoping.

Until suddenly word began to spread.  He is no longer dead.  He lives.  Many have seen Him. How could it be?  Crucifixion was 100% effective.  He had clearly died.  Could it be true?

Over forty days, it became clearer and clearer, this one’s different. All the others had failed.  Most of them dead and gone.  But this one was alive again.

This Messiah had overcome death.  There was no question – He was different.

His message of bringing life to the lifeless took on a different meaning. Hope for many sprang back to life.  In full bloom.  Hearts full of His truth.

Nothing would ever be the same.  Hope had become sight.  Waiting had become fulfillment.

That one moment of resurrection changed everything forever for everyone who believes.

This one’s different from all the rest. He lives!

The only question is, will we believe?  Will we place our faith in Him for our salvation from sin? Will we be different because of Him?

I pray you and your family know the true, life-changing power of the resurrection in your hearts and lives this Easter Sunday.
