Student Life

In addition to daily Bible classes, our TK4-12th grade students attend a dedicated weekly chapel to focus on Christ through singing and exciting, applicable Bible teaching.

Upper grade students are encouraged to be involved through special music, teaching, and more. 

Classrooms start the day with student-led prayer, devotions, and announcements to set their hearts and minds on their most important task of the day — to glorify God in all they do.

Service is an important part of our school’s vision, as we instill our core value to serve compassionately in practical ways. Whether it’s sending care packages to military families, volunteering at the Special Olympics, or performing music at local assisted living facilities, our students practice humble service, just as Jesus modeled. 

Students lead an annual See You at the Pole prayer event and other spiritual emphasis events. High school students complete required volunteer service hours each semester at off-campus organizations and churches. Many of our students go on summer mission trips, serve as camp counselors, and live out their faith in action all year round.

Field trips aren’t just for the youngest Falcons! From science centers, aquariums, and historic sites, TK4-12th grade students engage in a variety of educational field trips. Our middle school students travel out of town for a day-long trip, while our high school students and sponsors go on overnight trips to places like Washington DC, Williamsburg, VA, and a camp retreat. In late spring, our seniors take an unforgettable senior trip before graduation.

The high school Houses are designed to foster community and relationships within the student body through competing, growing, and serving together. Ninth through 12th graders are assigned to a house for their high school career.

Each of the four house names (Kardia, Anima, Forte, Akili) is derived from Luke 10:27: “And he said answering, Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.”

Each year, Friendship Christian School inducts students who are academically eligible and are commended by the NHS Committee in the areas of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Students (10th-12th grade) must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
