Lower School Arts
Developing Gifts for God's Glory
From the earliest grades, our students learn that creativity reflects the majesty of our creative God. Friendship's instructors help students develop their talents and love for the arts, producing an award-winning fine arts program that values teamwork, discipline, and joyful expression of God's handiwork.

Music: Vocal and Instrumental
Our preschool and elementary students gain experience performing on stage with two annual concerts and singing the National Anthem at various sporting events.
From qualified, enthusiastic teachers, our lower school music instruction provides building blocks for our strong middle and high school music programs. FCS elementary students enjoy:
- Music in the classroom, singing songs to help them learn academic facts and biblical truths that glorify God
- Intentional, progressive music curriculum, including foundational vocal and instrumental technique
- Jubilation Choir, a select choir for 4th-5th graders
- 5th grade Beginner Band
- Performance experience, including a schoolwide Christmas program and a spring showcase
- Fine arts competition opportunities in vocal and instrumental music, including groups, ensembles, and solos (beginning in 3rd grade)
- Private music lessons in piano, voice, and other instruments (optional)

Visual Arts
Art isn't just a form of expression, it's worship. Visual arts help students develop appreciation for beauty and a variety of art styles, while honoring the Lord with their creative abilities. Through classroom art projects and dedicated art instruction, students:
- Develop an understanding of the elements of art and techniques like drawing, painting, sculpting, and mixed media
- Learn basic motor skills necessary for creating works of art
- Display artwork at schoolwide events and concerts
- Participate in fine arts competitions in visual arts categories and more (beginning in 3rd grade)
Events & Competitions
Our elementary choirs and bands develop their skills throughout the year, sharing their talents during two annual concerts, art shows, and fine arts competitions with other schools.
Upper School Arts
Our middle and high school students can choose from a variety of fine arts electives, including art, band, choir, yearbook, and speech. FLC students also expand their creative gifts with art and music instruction.
