2025-26 Theme: To Lead is to Serve

To Lead is to Serve Theme for 2025-26 school year

As we begin a new school year, the FCS leadership team presents our prayerfully sought theme for the 2025-2026:

To Lead is to Serve.

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:27-28

Gospel-centered education is our mission at Friendship Christian School. At the heart of that mission is becoming more like Christ.

"Jesus, the omniscient son of son of God, the greatest leader to ever live, says this...No matter what leadership roles and difference-making opportunities God has placed you in right now, if you want to be great in God's kingdom, be a servant. God first, people next," Pastor DeAngelo shared in a recent sermon on leadership.

Leadership is not people serving me. Leadership is me serving people.
FBC Executive Pastor Bob DeAngelo

Jesus is our living example of servant leadership. We serve because Jesus served.

Humbly.
Compassionately.
Obediently.
Sacrificially.

With grace and truth, Christ laid down His life for others. As we realize Jesus's sacrifice for us, how can we not serve the image bearers we encounter every day?

In a “me-first” world, our heart is to serve our students, school families, each other, our churches, and souls in need.

At FCS, our desire is to equip and encourage the next generation of servant leaders, motivated by a heart for Jesus.

Starting today, our students can emulate Christ by serving God and others. Let's pray as we model and teach them:

To Lead is to Serve.
