A Nail-Biting PK Victory
On May 16, 2026, the Lady Falcons soccer team claimed the first NCISAA 1A State Championship in Friendship’s history after an incredible contest against Lawrence Academy.
Following four overtime periods, the teams were still locked in a 0-0 tie and the game advanced to penalty kicks. After stopping all six penalty kicks she faced, FCS goalie Claire Perry took her turn, booting the team’s game-winning PK into the top left corner of the goal!
The fans erupted in celebration as the Lady Falcons secured the win and accepted their trophy.
Even before the championship game, this group of girls was already playing like champions. Head Coach Bob DeAngelo
“Whether winning or losing, this team competed from whistle to whistle in every game this year, with each player embracing their role and not caring who got the credit," he added. "The final game simply added a trophy to what the girls had accomplished this season, and to the attitude that they brought to every practice and every game."
"All glory to God for allowing us to win the state championship!"
