IOWA Assessments: Administered yearly (spring) to kindergarten-8th grade.

CogAT: Administered yearly to 1st-8th grade.

PreACT 8/9: Administered yearly to all freshmen.

PreACT: Administered yearly to all sophomores.

PSAT: Administered yearly to all juniors.

ACT: Administered yearly to all juniors. FCS is an ACT national test site.

As a ministry of Friendship Baptist Church, Friendship Christian School is governed by the FBC Ministry Board comprised of deacons, the FBC Executive Pastor, and the FBC Senior Pastor, who serves as Ministry Board President.

The primary responsibility of making and instituting operational policies for the school falls under the Head of School. The chain of command at Friendship Christian School is as follows: Pastor/Ministry Board → Head of School → Principals → Faculty. The Head of School provides regular updates to the Ministry Board.

The board's duties include:

• Review and approve ministry budgets, assess budget requests, and collaborate with the Head of School on strategic planning
• Ensure compliance with ministry bylaws and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
• Assist with resolution of problems or policy concerns with FCS families as laid out in the handbook. Resolution escalation pattern is as such: Teacher → Supervisor → Administration → Board
• Handle personnel matters as needed

At FCS, we also partner with parents and teachers, who play a vital role by providing feedback and input on school programs, vision, and direction.

Senior Pastor Bob Vradenburgh serves as the current Ministry Board President (beginning in 2001). Four of his children are FCS graduates. His wife, Rachel, was a member of the second FCS graduating class in 1980.

Executive Pastor Dr. Bob DeAngelo serves as FCS liaison related to the Ministry Board. His three children are FCS graduates. In addition to his pastorate duties, he's held many roles in the school, including Bible teacher and soccer coach. 

The current Ministry Board members (Fall 2025) are Steve Baldwin, Nate Black, Rich Chaney, Dakota Delk, Forrest Goodson, Gary Goodson, Matt Hamann, Brian Hemric, Forrest Jones, Joe Perez, Jason Spruill, Dale Ulmer, and Joe Waters. 

We believe:

• The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
• One God eternally exists in three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 
• Man was created in God’s image, but is fallen and condemned by sin.
• Salvation and redemption are purchased by Jesus’ blood alone, received by faith.
• The literal return and eternal reign of Jesus is the blessed  hope of all believers.

Friendship Christian School is a ministry of Friendship Baptist Church. We carefully emphasize faithfulness to Scripture in our thinking about God, Jesus, the Bible, and humanity; and we strive to be unified in adhering to these crucial doctrines across the ministry.
