Elementary

FCS understands that this is an influential time in the life of children. It is during these formative years that basic beliefs, concepts, and principles are formed. Therefore, we place a strong emphasis on the basic fundamentals of education and strive to provide a safe Christian learning environment.

The lower elementary focuses on establishing a strong foundation in Bible, English, Penmanship, and Phonics.  Fortifying the basic principles of reading and writing in the lower elementary grades provides conditions for academic growth and success in upper elementary.

In addition to core subjects, students also participate in enrichment classes such as art, physical education, music, and choir.  Students in fifth grade are enrolled in a beginner’s band course to introduce them to the foundational elements of instrumental music.

Kindergarten is intended for students who will turn five by August 31st. Those students whose birthdates fall after these dates may also be accepted. Please inquire at the school office.

Kindergarten and first grade use the Abeka curriculum for all instruction.  Second grade uses Abeka for Penmanship, Science, and History, and BJUPress for Bible, Math, and English.  Third through fifth grades use BJUPress for all instruction.
