FCS Life

Beyond academics, Friendship Christian School provides character-building opportunities and spiritual growth through fine arts, athletics, service, leadership, and more. As followers of Christ, our highest purpose is to learn about Christ, to love like Christ, and to serve like Christ. All that we do, we do for the glory of Christ!

FCS House System

The house system is designed to foster community and relationships within the student body through competing, growing, and serving together. High school students are assigned to a house for their high school career. Each of the four house names (Kardia, Anima, Forte, Akili) is derived from Luke 10:27: “And he said answering, Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.” Read more about the FCS House System purpose, structure, and competition dates for 2023-2024.

Service and Ministry

Service is an important part of our school’s vision – “character is exemplified through service.” Our Core Value of Character states that we will “enrich students’ lives by offering opportunities to serve the community.”

Whether it is providing for and packaging care packages for military families, volunteering at the Special Olympics, performing at local assisted living facilities, or participating in community service activities, our students have multiple opportunities to live out this core value.

Student Opportunities

Chapel: Students are encouraged to be involved through special music and other activities.

Student Prayer Meetings: Students meet together for prayer prior to the opening of each school day. These prayer meetings are led by students.

Athletics: We have a full range of sports for boys and girls. We have boys’ soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, and cross country. We have girls’ volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, golf, and cross country.

Fine Arts: We have many opportunities for boys and girls including choir, band, speech, yearbook, art, and drama productions. Our students participate in fine arts competitions each year.

Field Trips: Each year we encourage our teachers to take the students on a variety of educational field trips. Advance notification is sent out.

Student Leadership: The student leadership is made up of all class representatives and NHS members. The President and Vice President of student leadership are the Senior Class representatives. Student leadership meets together to help with planning certain school activities and running student chapels.
