Student Participates in All-District Band

Daniel Elston, a junior at FCS, auditioned on his trombone for the Central District All-District Band.  The Central District’s major cities include Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham, Greensboro, and Asheboro (both public and private schools). 

Auditionees play a concert level solo, scales, and a difficult sight-reading piece.  His score placed him 3rd chair trombone in the 11-12 Wind Ensemble.  His high placement also qualifies him to audition in March for the NC Bandmasters All-State Honor Band held in May at UNC-Greensboro.

The All-Distict Clinic was held at Sanderson High School on January 27-28 where the band members are taught by a renowned conductor. The clinic concluded with a spectacular concert at Memorial Auditorium on the 28th.
