Our 5th grade held a clothing and toy drive for children 18 years and under called Operation Round Up. For a week, the students collected any gently used items of clothes, shoes, jackets, toys, etc. . .The students collected five boxes worth! This year our 5th grade is working on serving others. This first project focused on children their own age. All of the clothes were donated to the Durham Rescue Mission Thrift Store. On Friday, a truck from the mission came to collect the donations. clothing drive

After Operation Round Up was complete, our high school student leadership and 5th grade leadership groups were able to volunteer at the Durham Rescue Mission. The high school leaders paired up with a 5th grader to serve alongside. At the training center, the students were able to volunteer and serve by sorting clothing that had been donated to the Durham Rescue Mission (DRM). Moreover, this was especially personal for the 5th grade class who recently organized a clothing drive at school for DRM. The students were excellent examples of Christ-like service to our community and were able to foster new relationships within our FCS student body.
